It Started with One Very Good Dog.

Harvey's Own is a purpose driven business proudly formed and operated in St Albans. We make premium dog wear for all dogs, our main Alban Collection is suitable for every dog, but our Holywell Collection was created with blind and deaf dogs in mind, with clear identifiers of their condition.

The Holywell Collection is the result. Each piece carries a clear, legible message that is readable at a distance, without shouting. It is soft where it touches, secure where it matters, and made to be worn every day.

A simple, visible message would have made all the difference, so we set out to make one worthy of him.

We learned through Harvey and Teddie how many dogs are not represented in the dog wear world.

Asking other owners

We spoke to other dog owners and they told us what the gear on the market kept getting wrong.

Prototypes on real walks

Every version went out on real walks before it went anywhere else. We pride ourselves on the practicality of our products.

Charity

We donate a percentage of our revenue to dog charities, we want to improve the lives of all dogs globally.

The dog in question

Meet Harvey.

He is the reason any of this exists, Harvey is turning 11 years old and a few years ago he lost his sight. He is still the same bubbly and bright dog, but losing his sight has made him a little anxious and he has lost his confidence in certain situations. Having an identifier on his harness gives the people in his surroundings a heads up he might take some time to adjust.

Harvey is the first to try everything we make. If a buckle is fiddly or a strap sits wrong, he tells us in his own way long before anyone else would. Every product we make get's Harvey's Own seal of approval.
